Construction Trades: Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC
The need for skilled workers such as electricians, plumbers and HVAC (heating, ventilation & air-conditioning system) technicians has been increasing at the local, state and national levels for many years. As an older generation is retiring, the need has never been greater. The emphasis of this class will be on completing the technical skills that will make you the ideal candidate for jobs and apprenticeships in this industry.
The CTE Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC class will teach students the basics about construction and each specialty, as well as job planning, estimating, and customer service. Students will learn about electricity and how to install it; how to maintain, and repair systems used for drinking water, sewage, and drainage plumbing systems; and how to service heating and air conditioning equipment. Some students will also have the opportunity to put these skills to use on-the-job through work-based learning opportunities.
